Wednesday, July 12th, 11AM – 12PM EST
Rory James, Director of Student Diversity and Inclusion
School of Public Health, Indiana University Bloomington
This presentation is geared towards Student Affairs professionals who work specifically with college students, with a special emphasis on African American student communities.
The webinar will provide critical discussion regarding the cultural, gender, and societal norms that shape discourse surrounding sexual assault and sexuality within African American communities. It will discuss culturally relevant sexual assault intervention and education programs that focus on African American students and how to initiate the creation of these programs. Participants will identify ways higher education professionals can advocate for African American students who have experienced sexual assault or trauma.
IU employees’ names and attendance records will be shared with their campus Title IX deputies. All attendees will receive certificates of attendance.
